We have also begun putting together and completing some sets that I never finished or forgot about so long ago. I would like to trade of any of these if possible (I apologize for the long list).
I will be updating periodically, but if you are interested in trading, I have some to offer, covering the period 1976 to 1992. Please email me and ask, I will try to see what I have. maxcarey @ yahoo.com
1974 Topps Baseball
Am looking for any/all commons. I have most of the key cards to this set, but woefully short on the commons I need to build the set.
1975 Topps Baseball Mini
Ditto as the 1974 entry. Have all the key "money" cards, only a handful of commons
1979 Topps Baseball
This one is currently my son's project. He has discovered numerous doubles that I had that are in terrible to awful condition and wants to put together the set. He is constantly handling them so condition is not an issue. He even has bad condition doubles that he is willing to trade.

ReplyDeleteFor now. C-Gabe's got me busy.
ReplyDeleteIs this list up to date? I can definitely help out with some of them.
ReplyDelete(I'm the same the guy that's been posting as "Anonymous" over the last two days... Julio Cruz, one of the checklist entries... Anyways, I'll have to get off my lazy internet butt and create a legit account at some point... but...)
ReplyDeleteNext time I'm at my dad's house... I'll venture into the depths of the basement and look for my remaining commons. Looking to purchase / maintain my first car and then to acquire beer money for college, I sold off pretty much my entire baseball card collection during the '89 thru '92 timeframe... Which actually worked out quite well, as the bottom fell out of the market shortly thereafter. I can remember feeling a little ripped off at the time for only averaging about $40 each for my handful of '84 Donruss Mattingly rookies... and a few years later I wouldn't have been able to get $10 a piece...
Anyhoo, I still should have an absolute crapload of '87 and '88 Topps commons (if my old man didn't throw them away)... so I'm sure I can finish off your '87 Topps set for you and your son if the above list is still accurate.
My dad was not a sports fan when I grew up... so my collecting life was only shared with the neighborhood kids... I think it's great that you and your boy are enjoying these old sets together. I look forward to indoctrinating my sons into a life of baseball fandom... but they are only three and one years old at the moment. :)
Is this list current? I've been looking for people with want lists to help get rid of some of my extras. I started collecting in 1979 so I have some 1979 and 1980 cards that could use a good home.
ReplyDeleteYes, Todd. Please send me an email
ReplyDeleteANy chance you are still putting the sets listed together or are they all finished. If you would not mind I weould like to send you some of your needs and a list of mine from 75-84. Thanks. Mark
